From beginning of April 2010 onwards (12.4.2010) the island and the diving center will be closed for renovation. Re-opening is planed for the high season 2010-2011 - we will update you on the dates at a later stage.

Vilamendhoo is simply splendid as white beaches, palm studded gardens, tropical lush vegetation and turquoise blue lagoons surround the island on all sides. The island is situated at the south Ari Atoll between two channels. The 4 star island was opened in 1994 and offers 140 single or double bungalows with perfect comfort and integration in the natural ambience of the island. A numerous amount of sport activities are offered: Volleyball, tennis, badminton, table tennis, table football as well as an air-conditioned fitness centre.


   



As the island is situated between two channels and you will be able to experience unique channel dives with a view on unique amounts of pelagic fish, White tip sharks, turtles and much more. This corner of Ari Atoll has what is usually recognized as among the best diving in the Atoll. With over 40 dive sites and a fantastic house reef with many entry points, Vilamendhoo is the perfect diver’s paradise for beginners and experienced divers.





Even a wreck “Al Karim” is only 15 minutes boat ride away and is one of the regular visited dive sites. South of the island you find a protected Marine Area – Khudarah  Thila.  The dive sites are between 10 Minutes and 1 hours away from the island.














The sites are reached with comfortable dive boats (Dhonis). The unique diversity and variety of underwater life in the Maldives especially around Vilamendhoo has a lot off highlights to offer.
